SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - University of Illinois Springfield women's soccer coach
Molly Grisham announced the signing of six players to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.
"With this class when knew we wanted depth, soccer IQ and players who could attack and score goals," said Coach Grisham. "We are thrilled to announce the addition of a 2015 recruiting class that is filled with great players, great people, great students and great teammates who will help us achieve our recruiting goals.This class will add to the positive energy and great work ethic that our current players are embracing at a very high level."

The six newcomers join 15 returners from the 2014 season. Three of the signees attended the program's ID camp this past summer.
"While we are excited about the players we are adding we do anticipate announcing additional players in the coming weeks," said Grisham.

| Nicole Bascio - Wentzville, Mo. | Timberland High School | Forward/Midfielder
High School Accomplishments: Three-year letter winner in soccer and basketball .. earned all-conference honors in her first three soccer seasons ... led team in scoring and points in her first three years ... was chosen as the player of the game at the 2013 Parkway College Showcase ... played club for the Missouri Rush ... plans to study business.
Coach Grisham: "Nicole is a player we watched closely this summer. We have seen her play in the midfield and as a forward, in either spot she has a nose for the net. We anticipate that she will help our team from the attacking midfield and as a forward. We needed attackers in this recruiting class and Nicole will certainly help us in scoring goals." |
| Jasmin Lisowski - Schaumburg, Ill. | Schaumburg High School | Attacking Midfielder
High School Accomplishments: Helped team to multiple IHSA regional championships ... in 2011-12, led team to sectional semifinals ... played club for Sockers FC ... team captain for Sockers NPL squad since 2012 ... named to the honor roll all four years ... member of the National Honor Society ... plans to study Psychology with an emphasis in counseling.
Coach Grisham: "Jasmin is a player with a strong balance of skill and tactical knowledge. While she often plays as a holding mid we believe she will play in our attacking midfield. She is able to control the midfield with her distribution but she can also hit a ball from distance. She is a player who certainly stood out at our ID Camp and we knew after a few training sessions that we wanted her on our team." |
| Taylor Mraz - Crystal Lake, Ill. | Crystal Lake South High School | Outside Midfielder
High School Accomplishments: Led team to multiple Fox Valley Conference championships ... voted team's most valuable offensive player as a sophomore ... played club for Crystal Lake Force ... captained team for three years ... named to the honor roll all four years ... selected as an Illinois State Scholar ... plans to study Biology.
Coach Grisham: "Taylor is a player we had seen play in MRL games but we knew she would be a great addition to our team after she attended our ID Camp this summer. Taylor is a player who has the ability to run for days, she is very coachable, she can serve a ball in and will be a solid contributor out wide for us. Taylor adds to our ability to attack." |
| Karisa Rogers - St. Charles, Mo. | St. Charles West High School | Forward
High School Accomplishments: Named the conference player of the year in her sophomore and junior seasons ... led team in scoring as a sophomore with 26 goals and nine assists ... led team in scoring as a junior with 19 goals and nine assists ... played club for the Missouri Rush ... plans to study Business and Management.
Coach Grisham: "Karisa is a forward we are very excited to work with. She is a true goal scorer who possesses both speed and skill. I am not sure there are any games that we watched where she wasn't a part of her team's goal scoring success. We believe she will make an instant impact on our ability to put the ball in the back of the net!" |

High School Accomplishments: Three-year varsity starter ... two-year member of the student athlete advisory council ... selected to attend Women's in Sports Leadership Academy ... named to the honor roll all four years ... played club for Missouri Rush ... plans to study Biology.
Coach Grisham: "Maddie is an attacking player who is a true competitor. She is a player who isn't afraid to put her head on the ball or throw her body in harms way to score a goal. Because of her speed and aggressiveness we believe she will be a wide player in our midfield. Maddie is a player who loves to win and we welcome that to our team." |
| Annie Valenti - St. Louis, Mo. | St. Dominic High School | Holding Midfielder
High School Accomplishments: Earned all-state honorable mention honors as a junior ... helped team to 2013 state championship ... named to the honor roll in each of her first three years ... played club for the Missouri Rush ... selected to the Rush National Team.
Coach Grisham: "Annie is a player we were able to work with at our ID Camp and it became clear to us that she would be a great addition to our team. Annie is a classic holding mid. She is able to distribute the ball well from the midfield, delay the attack and sit in the gap of the centerbacks as needed. Her experience with Missouri Rush and nationally ranked St. Dominic High School will serve her very well in our program." |
